Coping with guilt is one thing, over coming it is another.

Janie Mandell may not have been the one who killed her fiancé, Marcus, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t the reason he’s dead.

One year after Marcus is murdered by the man with whom she was having an affair, Janie, a young, successful Las Vegas hotel sales and event manager, appears outwardly to have put her life back together. But then she blows off an important meeting and loses a valuable account.

Her boss gives her a choice: go to therapy or resign. With her tightly controlled life thrown off balance, Janie is forced to deal with Marcus’s death the only way she knows how: by obsessing over her new therapist’s wardrobe, chatting with her imaginary dog, planning childish pranks, and enlisting help from her dead fiancé’s brother–ultimately learning to accept her mistakes and finding a place of peace (literally and figuratively).
